    It’s here. Garage build started

I have been hitting into a net in my garage until I made up my mind on what to do. Well finally arrived.

Keep us updated on the progress. Who delivered the box? Did UPS or FedEx actually bring that to you? Must weigh a literal ton haha.

so far so good. the frame is easy to put together. it is different than the videos and takes 15 minutes. the fabric takes longer as it is velcro. lots of velcrol

Where will you store all the Diet Pepsi though? 😂. Congrats and looking forward to seeing the finished product.

the gaming pc was an HP Pavilion gaming desktop --I5 9400F, 256gb ssd, 8 gb ram and 1060Ti. will do for now. the projector is an eiki 308u. never heard of it but it is a 6000 lumens wuxga 1920x1200 16:10 native aspect ratio. The frame is a tank and well built. this is gen 2 and is different than the install videos online and goes together quite easily. The surround is well made and heavy material with lots of velcro and I mean lots. The screen has a separate mesh screen behind it which will make it more durable I guess. The computer cart serves its purpose and I bought a mount and a 27 inch touch screen monitor so i can have it near me for easy changes to whatever sim software I am running.

It also came with 35 courses in fsx so plenty to choose from

I assume this was the Costco deal? I was close to jumping on it but don't currently have a space to put it. Waiting for stupid contractor to get back to me.

it was the costco deal. 17k for everything. added club data for another 4k. ships direct from foresight
I also did not think I had the room but I now have plenty. just less of a garage

17k? Man I have been checking Costco almost everyday for the passed month waiting for a deal and to pull the trigger. Well never saw one and ordered today for 20k. How long did it take to arrive?

GCQUAD but not in a backpack. Just came in a generic cardboard box. And yes it was in that big freight box along with a fibrebuilt mat and landing turf. The fibrebuilt is not the studio version however. It is there performance series I know nothing about.

The enclosure is done. Was a little tricky as they Did not explain some things well. Once you see it you get it but not the way I thought it would be

I do have to say it is well made. The frame and the enclosure material is very heavy. All Velcro. No actual bungees to speak of

So really liking the purchase. Everything is great except not a fan of the fibrebuilt performance mat. I have a Quattro which I will use for now. The eiki308u projector is very bright and works great. No idea who the company is but for a 16:10 6000 lumen projector it works great. The enclosure is well designed I just wish it were deeper but that is an easy fix with curtains and top netting

Any chance you're looking to sell the fiberbuilt if you don't like it?

It’s the performance mat not the studio mat. If they won’t sell me the parts to upgrade it then it’s possible

My next move might be to try to raise the landing turf to the height of the fiberbuilt. It is about 1.5 inches lower. Still looking at options

Added some sliding side protection for kids and hackers. Also added ceiling protection for the occasional high shots and pop ups Click image for larger version

So it’s not the mat you can just stick in a Regular tee anywhere?

It is that mat. Just don’t like it. The mats at our course react better. I bought a fiberbuilt insert and I am not sure I like it either. Might have to just keep the Quattro going as it seems to be the mat of my choice right now
