Enclosure - safe distances from walls

Hi all,

My simulator building is almost complete and I'm now working on the internal enclosure.

How much space either side and from the back should you leave behind the enclosure to ensure wall isn't hit? Assume more at back than sides

That's a lot of glass! Are you doing anything to protect that?

The window to the left will have the simulator enclosure protecting it. The others I'm just hoping I don't hit a ball 90 degrees straight left. Should be fine........

Question is how much space do I need to leave to ensure if i hit the sides the material absorbs it

I'd say anywhere from 12" to 24" depending how tight and how heavy your impact screen is. The tighter it is, the less clearance you need but the more rebound you get.

I can't really comment on the sides, but similar theory. It just might be more like 6" to 12" range I'd think. I would think you can make the sides tighter since the ball will be reflected back inwards towards the screen when it rebounds.
