I currently use a Skytrak, hit off a DIY mat and into a net in my basement. The Skytrak goes to my iPhone and casts to a TV. Because of ceiling height I can't swing anything longer than a 6 iron (also I'm 6'3" with a long swing).
I decided to overhaul my garage and put a full build out there. Step one was building a shed to move the garage stuff to and that is done! I decided to replace my skylark with a Mevo+ which hopefully will be delivered in mid-November. Construction wise I need to add a gas furnace to heat the garage (I'm in Michigan) and take down the track for my automatic garage door. I hate that I have to take the tracks down but there is no way for me to have righty and lefty swings in there with them up.
I plan to get an iPad pro to run the software. Do people go lightening cord to HDMI to connect to their projector or is there a way to cast it through something like an Apple TV?
I am on the verge of buying an enclosure. I have been looking at a 9x10x5 budget bay system from all sports systems. I was likely going to add the premium fabric for the screen, sewed in weight pocket, sky bridge brackets, shot defender and 10ft angle side netting (to catch my wife and kid's shanks). What are people's feedback on that enclose and the add ons? Specifically are the add ons worth it?
I think I'll get the interlocking carpet tiles form all sports to cover the ground. My friend has them and really likes them.
I have a friend that has the TallTurf hitting mat that they sell on all sports. My current is a 4 x 5 and that size seems fine. Hitting mats are very important and I want feedback on it. If there is a better one out there that doesn't break the bank I'd like to know. Is there a consensus on best mat?
I'm worried about where the projector gets mounted to make sure it doesn't get hit. My garage ceiling is 10'8". How far away is it normally mounted and how far off the ceiling will the projector sit?
Overall what are peoples thoughts? Any advice is appreciated and I will create a build thread as I set it up.
