  • Garage Sim Build Screen Placement?

Hello, my Mevo + will be here in a few weeks and I am ready to buy my screen and wanted opinions on placement. I am thinking about doing a 8x14 screen and can't decide where is best to place it. See the specs of my garage in the image. If I put the screen on the wall opposite the garage door, this would be best for spectators as when the garage door is open people can see from the driveway. This will be useful for watching movies and sports ect. The minor issue is that with a hitting distance of 10 feet from the screen, I would have to close the garage door about 1 foot to have full clearance with a driver.

If I place the screen on the wall with the door to the house, I can keep the garage open all the way if I hit slightly off center. The issues with the setup being this way: 1) hitting off center, is this a big deal? 2) the side curtains will block the screen for people wanting to watch from outside and would force them to move to the right side of the garage to see what happening on the screen.

I would love any suggestions on which setup would be preferable. I appreciate the help.

You want to be off center, especially if you are 10 feet from screen(which is too far in my opinion), because your shots should start to the right so the ball would actually hit center of screen if you are offset. 6 feet away is perfect for me

Being off center makes sense after thinking about it more. The reason for the 10 feet was due to the fact that the Mevo plus is radar and needs more ball flight than camera based units. Are you using a radar unit?

Ok, dumb guy questions. Why do you want to be off-center? Why is 10 feet too far? Because of wedge shots not hitting the screen?

Dumb guy answers...I am wondering the same bahaha! But for the off center, he explained you want your ball to be center to the screen rather than your body be in the center.

Ah, I misread. I thought he was suggesting the ball be off-center.

Lol just for a right hander, every shot should be starting to the right of your target(in this case the middle of the screen) even fades. So i suggest being off center to the left so that you can swing freely without fear of developing an "inside swing" which is a real thing. People will start pulling shots out of fear of hitting the right wall. !0 feet is just far, a lot of room for the ball to travel where you dont want it to. The closer you are the less room for error

That is a valid point. My original post was me not thinking through it fully. When I meant off center I meant the ball position would be off center. I have decided to go with a 13 foot wide screen with the ball at exactly 6.5 feet and 8 feet ball to screen.
    Working...
