  • New Golf Simulator for my ManCave. Help needed for Beginner!

Thank you for reading and any help you can give me. Been reading this form for about 2 months and have to say I am now confused than ever. Sams or costco has the foresight all in and have debated just getting that but not even sure about that now!

Anyone on here I can pay to help do my plans and figure all this out?

    About the space
    Basement
The exterior walls are concrete now.
    Floor concrete now
    11' ceilings
Door needs to be on the rt side of the room

    Budget
Budget total to do the space and buy all stuff $40k

    Important things for me
    - easy install - not super technical. Can hire someone to install.
    - no markings needed on ball or club
    - Club and ball data
    - great graphics on screen
    - not a lot of noise - insulation all around
    - No trip hazards
    -

    Wants
    - put a couple of seats in there for watching with buddies. Thinking maybe can use curtains to protect TV's on one wall and seats on other. Just use curtains when hitting balls.
-Would like the whole room to be a putting green and some holes core drilled in so I can practice putting as well.

    Things I need to know
    - Design
    - Monitor and how it all works together
    - List of exactly what I need

I am willing to pay someone to help me with this. I am in St Louis if that matters.

Thank you for an advise or help.

Sounds like you got a great idea/plan and looking at your floor plan, you should have a great room. Plus with that budget, you could do anything you wanted to and if you went DYI on somethings, you could probably save a third and that is even hiring a media/audio guy to help you put it together and then you might even be able to add a sound system too.

I can not speak about the Foresight sim system since I have not researched it because of budget - 20k max, so I went with the Uneekor EYE XO and am in the process of building it out. My room is similar to yours and was/is a true media room that is 33'x22' with 12' ceilings and is split into 2 levels. The lower level is 15'x22' and so my screen will be 16x9 and hitting from 8-10' away. I thought about going 16x10 on the screen but the way the room is set up and where the screen sits under a built in sound sound speaker system, I had to go with 16x9. Total in, I will be around 16k-18k - subfloor, turf, computer, screen, EYE XO and projector.

One thing you might need to look at too, is sound proofing/dampening. Hopefully some of the people who wrote some of the other posts that I have read where they built in concrete basement, they said it was really loud especially with the driver. The curtains will surely help but you might need to look at some baffling or tiles on the ceilings.

Hope this helps a bit and cant wait to see what you build out!!

I think you will find that either the ball or the club will need to be marked. I don’t find either of those to be a big issue, but could be for you. Given your situation, perhaps looking a little more closely at the sim in a box solution fro foresight might be a good place to start.
