With the new sim room, I really wanted it to look more like a sim room....putting green and all. I am a big fan of Fiberbuilt but the cost on their putting green was fairly high. I did some research and bought a 15x13 piece of putting turf from a company called Rymar. I have no affiliation with this company. I did have high expectations when it came to putting. What I was pleasantly surprised with is how well the green took a chip..... Maybe it takes it too well.....like a soft green early in the morning. With my Fiberbuilt hitting mat, I can easily put a little or a lot of spin on slow chips. The green even reacts well to side spin. IRL, when I have a short chip that I can't putt..... I will sometimes put a lot of left side spin and try to one hop and stop it. I was happy to see that I can practice this shot in the sim room. Pardon the skull shot at the end.

Thanks keither5150 - that Rymar looks like it reacts really good. Can you tell us if that green is made of PE (polyethylene), or vinyl? As I'm installing a ProTee system, I need to make sure that my putting surface around my stance mat, is not vinyl, as it will reflect the halogen lights and cause misreads.

You would have to ask Rymar..... It is best to get a sample and see how your camera's handle it. Martin from GSA came up with IBS image processing. IBS allows a guy to have somewhat a reflective surface as long as it is not as bright as the ball. I have the Bermuda Pro.Last edited by keither5150; 09-29-2020, 05:15 AM.

It looks like it is PE....... as per their spec sheet.

Rymar looks fantastic.
Would it work as a stance mat as well? I was thinking of doing the entire floor in the putting matt with a fiberbuilt insert.
Also, is the mat on a subfloor? What's underneath?
Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the response. Is that a custom mat? Or did you piece it together on your own. I like the putting strip.
I can’t tell from the angle, how is the transition from the putting strip to the putting surface? Trying to find a solution that doesn’t cause a hop.
Great chipping too!

Basically it is the 9x4 lefty/righty mat with an extra 4x1 putting insert....... I had them design it for me. I did have to fool around with the height of my green and the putting insert to make them line up. I have the putting strip about 1/16" higher than the green. The green has a foam carpet tile underlay.....which I mostly used for matching the height of the hitting mat. I connected the putting strip to the putting green with carpet tape. I really like the new green. My old carpet was too fast and didn't take a chip. The spinning ball wouldn't grab at all. I can practice from close to 30 feet away and chip overtop of the hitting mat.
