Build Planning Help Skytrak with NetReturn vs Carl's

Dimensions of my room space in the basement
8'6" tall
13'wide
13'6" deep

I am leaning Carl's DIY enclosure 19:10 ratio as the 8" tall version fits perfectly.
My concern, how far away do I need to stand from the screen. There is a Steel support post dead center 16'6" from the front wall.
1' from the front wall means I would need to stand front foot 6' from the screen. That is too close, right?

Alternatively, I could go with the Netreturn with the screen. How close can I stand to that? Does the screen have the same ball effect (drops down instead of out) as the net?

I have the Net Return with screen and it drops down. I try to get 'close' to the screen for wedge shots but I understand this would be a problem for skytrak since you're stuck to a single red dot spot. I'd say I am probably about 6-7 feet from stance to screen with my Quad. I'm debating heavily of going with the Carl DIY enclosure instead to give me a wider hitting area and a more professional look.
