  • Canadian Garage Build for about $6,500

Mid summer my girlfriend and I decided we didn't want golf to stop once the snow fell as it was one of our few escapes from the house during covid with both of us working from home. We ordered our Mevo+ back in late August with ~12 week lead time, and fortunately got it in last week. We didn't really have the option for SkyTrak as my girlfriend shoots left and I shoot right. All that aside, please see the full budget below in CAD including shipping and tax:

    Mevo+ = $3,010
    Carl's Impact Screen (12.5' x 9.5') = $1,961
Metal for Impact Screen = $207
    Optoma GT1080 HDR (slightly used) = $800
    Country Club Elite Insert (10"x30") = $108
    Carp Tiles (Used) = $50
    Wood for Base = $408
Old Ceiling tiles for cushion = Free

    Grand Total = $6,544

2 issues so far with the mevo+:
    1) The power button was really tough to press when we first got it, then after the 3rd or 4th use the power button came out. We now need to turn it on and off with a small screw driver
    2) The Mevo+ disconnects from the app annoyingly often. Probably once or twice per round.

Overall, we're very happy, but waiting to hear back from flight scope about the Mevo+ issues.

Looks great! Fingers crossed Flightscope can send you a new unit while you can continue to use yours. It would not be nice to wait for them to repair and ship back to you. Or send you a demo if you do have to send your in for repair.

I haven't heard back from my email yet, but I'll have to get on the phone if I don't hear back shortly. I'm not going to be waiting 12+ weeks for a replacement without mine!

Nice work... Being that you are in Canada, what is your heating solution.

I've got a 90,000 BTU propane heater (with CO alarm). It hopefully shouldn't be too bad as two of the garage walls are shared with the house and the garage is insulated. I've also got 220V so I can add an electric heater if need be also.

What did you use for the 4' or so protective barriers?

I bought the Carl's impact screen with the enclosure so it's integral.

If you don't mind me asking what was the shipping cost and import fees in CAD from Carl's to Canada for the enclosure kit?

Cost for the screen was $1,289.95 USD and the shipping and handling was $144.00 USD. Total in CAD was $1,961.30. Didn't have an specific import fees listed or that I had to pay.

        Thank you!

Does the impact screen fold into itself or otherwise get out of the way so you can easily park again? I have a DIY screen setup in my garage and really want to move to something like this but need to be able to easily "collapse it after use...

No, it's a pretty permanent screen. Depending on the size of your garage, you may be able to buy a 16'x9' screen that you can just park inside of!
