  • New Golfsimulator Setup in planning

    Hello Guys,

Hello, I'm new to the forum and I am writing to you on behalf of my father. He would like to realize his dream of a golf simulator and I am helping him with the planning,

We already have an offer from a company here in Austria, but I would like to clarify how you find the price-performance ratio.

I also need tips on software, projector, touchscreen (including TV tuner)

So here are the facts about the offer.

GCQuad by Foresight Sports includes FSX2020 software price € 21,924 that is about $ 26,229.33

I think the price for the FSX2020 software is too high - I recommended TGC2019 as an alternative, but the company where he had the offer said that TGC2019 was not possible with GCQUAD, is that correct?

I recommended the following pc to him

    Gaming Cube i7-10700K - RTX 3070 - Gaming Cube PCs (mifcom.de)

I recommended the following projector to him Panasonic PT-VMZ50U how do you find the projector for the requirements.

    PT-VMZ50U - Portable Business Projectors | Panasonic

Can you Guys recommend a Touchscreen which can also used as a regular TV?

i hope to receive numerous answers to enable him to achieve his dream of the golf simulator as well as possible

(sorry my english i used google translator)

So I believe you can use TGC with the Quad but you must purchase the FSX software first in order to make it work and it requires some sort of workaround to make it happen. I believe TGC is not officially supported by the Quad and that's why the sales reps will tell you that it doesn't work.

Is there a particular reason that you (or he) are dead set on the Quad?

My advice: Get a launch monitor that is officially compatible with TGC2019 (not just compatible in some loophole, workaround way). The Quad is terrific, but if the main priority of the sim is to play golf courses, I would not recommend FSX. Especially for that kind of price.

As far as the projector, it looks like the one you have picked out is more of a business presentation projector as opposed to a gaming projector. I would look more for gaming and movie projectors.

The GCQuad is a great machine, but as you say, the software is very expensive, and the options to use other software are very limited. Have you considered a Uneekor system? Physically, the main difference is both Uneekor systems are ceiling mounted, so not portable. Though this does give it the advantage of working well for simultaneous left and right handed play. Uneekor is also compatible with several different SIM programs. The European distributor happens to be based in Austria.

They also do full builds complete with PC, projector, enclosure, touchscreen and mat.

I am UK based, so I have not used the company myself.

Hello, many thanks for the quick answers, he will probably accept the offer as he received it.
Maybe we will install the TGC2019 later, found the workaround here in the forum, thanks for that.

If someone is interested in his predecessor Launch Monitor, here is the Ebay link
