  • Cutting Fiberbuilt hitting strip into concrete floor

I have a 1’ x 3’ Fiberbuilt hitting strip, I am thinking about cutting into the concrete basement floor so it sits flush. Has anyone done this? Not sure how it would affect the structure. I’m thinking I would have to cut 3” deep.

Yes, it has been done. I am likely doing the same over the winter. Here is the post of another user's basement.
My wife thinks I’m crazy and I probably am :) cut a 7’ by 4’ rectangle in my basement floor so I could have my fiberbuilt flush with the rest of the floor. Will have green carpet tiles all around that continue to impact screen. Every inch counts right?!? :)

I had a 1x4 fiberbuilt. I separated it into 2 squares instead of 4 then cut a rectangle in the concrete. Chiseled it out to 3 inches deep added some leveler in the hole and brought my fiberbuilt up to the height i wanted with exercise matting in the bottom. I never went through the entire thickness of the concrete. I like it but it was more work and messier than I expected for such a small area.

Sounds like the chiseling would be a PIA, but i just saw another picture of someone doing the same and it looks nice.
