Long time "lurker" and first-time poster! Before sharing my build, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this forum for all the great insight and advice. I spent quite a long time reading through posts and searching the forum to finally get to the point where I can hit balls. So thank you!
On to my build - we are fortunate that our garage is both long and has very high ceilings, which made for the perfect spot to put in a hitting bay. However, the stipulation from my wife was that we had to be able to park both our cars in. It's about 8 feet from the wall to the beam, so I was able to build the bay facing the window, which leaves just enough room for me to pull my car in. The metal beam is kind of annoying, but I can swing every club in my bag without hitting any walls.
Turf/Putting Green: StarPro Greens turf from Home Depot
Hitting Mat: 5 Star Golf Mats 1' x 3'
Impact Screen: Carl's 8x8 Impact Screen. Hung the impact screen on a 2x6" piece of wood that is screwed into studs in the wall.
Distance Ball to Screen: 8 ft 2 in
Side Curtains: DWCN Privacy Room Divider on Amazon
Projector: BenQ MX819ST from eBay
PC: Built my own - i5 3.3GHz, 16GB Ram, 250GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

There's a couple of downsides to setting it up this way. First, there's no place for left-handed players to hit, which could be an issue if I ever hosted something. Second, as I discovered, the metal beam interferes with Mevo+ readings. I downloaded the FlightScope diagnostic app and it showed some pretty high interference readings, which was resulting in misreads or no reads at all. The distance ball to screen is just over 8 feet, which I thought wouldn't be an issue but that hasn't helped with the misreads either. In any case, you'll probably see a Mevo+ for sale soon!
Future enhancements:
- Buy a SkyTrak to replace my Mevo+
- Remove wooden garage overhead and install high-lift garage door
- Move simulator to face garage door with retractable screen
- Buy a GC2 and a SAM Putt Lab without my wife knowing
