Hi! I'll be building a new house sometime next year after covid situation improves here in the Philippines. Now, I'm currently planning out how to incorporate my golf sim in the space that I managed to negotiate from my wife :-) . Due to space/budget limitations, I'm left to have the sim inside our den/tv room, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to hide/incorporate the sim without changing too much of the functionality and look of the room. The room will be 6m(19.6ft) wide by 6.8m (22.3ft) deep with a 2.7m (8.8ft) ceiling height with a glass wall on one side of the 6.8 meter length, and with 2 doors on an adjacent wall on the 6 meter side. I'll also have to put a couch and a big tv or projector screen for the room aside from the sim. I've been reading through the forum looking for ideas and so far have come up with a few options.
1. Mount a golf impact screen at the 6 meter wall with hidden side curtains and maybe a cover that can be attached to the top of the curatinas that can protect the ceiling. With a motorized projector screen that can drop in front of the impact screen for regular tv/movie use. With a 1 meter walkway at the far end, couch and the impact screen a foot away from the wall, that leaves me with 2.15m (7ft) from the ball to the screen and about 2.43m (8ft)from the ball to the couch. Do I have enough clearances? I'm small at 5'5" (165cm) but I'm not sure if I have someone sitting on the couch if it's going too near to the swing. Got the idea of the build from this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IGf...st=WL&index=13
2. Mount a TV or projector screen and have a drop down golf impact screen in front of it, I'll probably want to mount it even further away from the wall to avoid the risk of hitting the tv. I can use something like the homecourse https://www.homecoursegolf.com My problem here is how to hide the homrcourse so as not to ruin the aesthetic fo the room.
3. Mount a drop down screen opposite the 6.8m glass wall, I'd still have 6m of depth from front to back and no couch to worry about but I don't know to hide it or make it look nice.
I'll probably use a moveable camera type system for the simulator, maybe a skytrak or a gc quad. I'm hoping something comes along that's better than the skytrak but cheaper than the gc quad before finish the build.
Sorry for the long post, I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to consider and I'll learn more as I go along. I'll appreciate any ideas/tips/recommendations. Thanks!
