  • Garage has a slight slope

My garage has a slight slope the front where I will be standing is 126 inches and the bottom of garage where door is it’s 130.

will this effect my build at all? I am using a uneekor qed

I have a very similar build in my garage with QED. Screen opposite garage doors. Sloped slightly down away from screen. I built a 60" x 42" hitting platform with a Fiberbuilt hitting strip insert embedded in it. This allowed me to easily level hitting and putting surface which QED prefers. I have a turf ramp (Turf tile) to go from platform to turf (garage floor). I've had no issues with QED reading shots or putts. Some folks have built more elaborate raised platforms than span entire sim floor space. I need flexibility to park a car from time to time. My platform has casters and handles so it can easily be rolled out of the way.

Yes I spoke to uneekor and they said it won’t work properly with a slope so I cancelled my plans for the build not sure how to level the floor

Only the 18"x18" hitting area (or whatever QED is) has to be level. It should be manageable to make that part level by use of shims or subfloor. I had to get creative with my truestrike gel strip to get it level but it didn't take long. And a little downslope from your screen would actually be helpful for ball return. Don't scrap your plans!

Absolutely agree with Foreman33. Leveling hitting platform/mat is not difficult at all.

I have the same issue. I've yet to figure it out, but I will. I'm thinking 3/4" plywood under hitting and putting areas all the way to screen. I'll use shims, self leveling floor cement, whatever it takes to make it perfectly level. I'll also have a 18" by 18" area cut out of plywood to drop my hitting area to be flush with other flooring materials. I'll post a build as I go, going to take my time. Hoping some time in February for completion.

I believe you only have to level the heading surface where the uneekor reads the ball The rest I don’t think matters even for putting I think once it leaves the reading zone the readings have been taken by that point regardless I’m going to try to level the whole floor but I believe levelling just the hitting surface won’t be so hard

Oh yeah, just the hitting surface shouldn't be that hard to level. I'm going sideways in my garage not front to back so my floor tilts from right to left. Even though I know you are correct about how the LM reads and calculates it; it would drive me bonkers to watch my ball break right to left every time and it show straight on the screen. Extra work and money but I want to do it right.

You may want to consider leveling hitting surface and the stance mat/area.

Absolutely richerod that's the plan. Whole thing stance area, hitting area and hitting area to screen so there is a level putt.

I've had very good results doing it this way

I’m also leveling the whole area and adding extra holes to putt into

is There a way to add breaks when I lay the tarp or will this be tough to do?
