  • Spotlight/Pinlight for Garage Sim

I have finally made the upgrade in my garage sim to now include a gaming computer and TGC 2019. I have always hit with one of my garage lights on but am now looking to get the most out of the graphics and the sim setup. I'd like to get an inexpensive light to shine on the ball so I can turn the garage lights off. I say inexpensive as we will probably be moving in the next year or so. Because of this Im looking for something that sits on a chair or can sit on the floor/possibly attach to a cart. Anyone have any good recommendations (preferably with an Amazon link) of something great they have used along those lines?

I just use one of those little desk lamps with the bendable arm. It sits on the computer cabinet where I have my keyboard next to the hitting mat and the arm bends over the mat where the ball is. The bulb is enclosed so it really lights up the mat without shining any light onto the screen.

Awesome, thanks. I have a Skytrak, does anyone know if there are any lights (fluorescent, LED, etc) that I should stay away from that may interfere with its ability to pick up the ball?

I don't think it matters. The only thing the skytrak really doesn't like is direct sunlight.

I have hit under incandescent soft white as well as LED bright white light. I have not seen a huge difference. I seem to have the most issues with very low shots off the mat say with a 3 wood but most everything else picks up pretty well. Very high pitch shots you may want to to set the ball in front of the dot closer to the screen and with low drives from the mat not a tee, you may want to place the ball behind the dot.

I am interested to hear if anyone else has any other information on lighting...

I have Skytrak in my garage setup. This one has served me very well for $20

LED pinspot stage light,TOM 6W double white/cool white&warm white pinspot by RF controller (spot)

Plugs into an outlet, Super concentrated beam, virtually no ambient light towards the screen. I turn all the lights off in the garage, put this guy on and I’m good to go.

Do you have this mounted in the ceiling? If so (and if your projector is also in the ceiling) do you have it mounted in front of or behind the projector?
