  • Need affordable stance mat idea small space

My move from 7'8" inch basement to one car garage but with 10'5" ceilings is going well! I will be having the garage door raised to the ceiling. (was quoted for new door and tracks for way less than I expected!) I was given the idea over on fb to do a curtain style set-up and my existing materials worked brilliantly.

Now that I can comfortably invite people to play with me.. (ceiling height was always an issue before) I need a way for righties to hit, affordably. I have flight deck practice station and a crappy 5x5 mat from Amazon that I'm not really using right now. Any ideas on how I could make a platform and add the flight deck and then get another deck for righties? (Need 2 cause narrow space)

I could add wood to crap mat and cut out flight deck? But how could I get the perfect cut? (Not very handy) could HD or Lowes do something like that for me?

Any other ideas for me? Thanks!

Nice to see that my curtain recommendation worked out for you. As far as the cutout in the wood, i would trace the bottom of the flightdeck onto the wood and then you could use a dremel to cut it. It's not difficult at all.

There's a thread about this somewhere. May be able to find it if you search. I tried dropping a flight deck into a stance mat myself with mixed results. I'm not the most skilled at DIY stuff but it wasn't overly difficult and turned out okay. The key will making sure both flight decks are the same height so you don't have to adjust the skytrak height when going from lefty to righty. Also making sure the right-handed flight deck is not in the way of the lefty stance area and vice versa since the flight decks are not good for standing on.
