  • New Sim Build Project UK - Advice Needed!

    Hi All,

Just recently moved in to my brand new home which was the show home. The Sales Centre has been converted into the garage space, which i now plan to convert into a Simulator room. The space has already been decorated i.e. plastered and painted and the size of room i have to work with now is 7 metres long x 5m high x 2.6m wide. Given the width space available, is this adequate enough for a launch monitor set up using GC2 or similar?

    Thanks in advance.

It does look quite tight on width but as others have said not impossible. Are you planning to use longer clubs driver etc? and if so you might have a challenge with placement of launch monitor as would have thought with that width you will be hitting a driver almost tee up next to the side wall without room for monitor. The projector will need a bit of research as depends on throw rate and where you can position it without hitting it or casting a shadow. With the width being tight you might be better with horizontal lens shift and placing to side but these are not cheap. Im also in the uk and converting my garage but mine is 3.5m wide and using the stealth electric screen. I am planning to go for the Benq tk700sti when it comes out soon. Its a short throw 4k.

I tested my swing last night in there at the position i think i will be in and with the driver i'm okay (just about). If i find i do start to struggle then i am able to take a hole out of the right hand side wall to sink the GC2 into.
With regards to projector, didn't have the budget for a 4k throw option but due to the orientation of the screen i wouldnt have got the benefit anyway so i've purchased the OPTOMA HD29HST.
Working...
