I'm planning a sim room and I'm trying to figure out screen size and placement of the projected image. I'll be using a Mevo+ launch monitor.
The wall I'm projecting on is 153" high and 128" wide. Seems to me that 4:3 is the optimal aspect ratio.
4:3 image at 128" wide is 96" high.
16:9 image is 72" high which seems too short.
If I am working with a 128x96 inch image, would you place the bottom of the image at the floor or would you centre it on the wall? I'm leaning towards moving it off the floor at least a bit so that the bottom of the screen where the shot data is would be closer to eye level. How high would you go with it?
If I have 57 vertical inches to fill, I can order a 128x96 impact screen and then surround it with padded panels but what if I get an impact screen made that has a black panel at the top and bottom. Then I don't have to build any sort of enclosure. I can just hang it from the ceiling.
This is all assuming I have that sort of flexibility with my projector. I haven't bought it yet and I haven't done a ton of research on capabilities.
Thoughts?
