Hey all. New to the site, but I've been lurking for a few months. ever since I started planning my build. Its more of a budget build.
-Carls Place 10x10 preferred screen
- Unistrut frame 10'x9'x4' (donated by my uncle so free!)
- Black medium fabric for sides and top.
- amazon tarp clips and bungee cords
- Used Soccer field tiles for floor. 4'x4' (13 tiles in all)
- BenQ Th671ST projector
- Amazon track light kit
- Amazon kvm extender to connect to pc in basement like this
- cheapo wireless keyboard and mouse
- usb wifi adapter
- Birtees (on the way)
- Mevo Plus (Should be coming anyday now)
My garage has really made a transformation in the last couple months. It used to be full of junk from my now-deceased father. After many trips to the dump and much cleaning, some drywall mud, paint, and some money, its turned into something useful. I think the unique thing about this setup is that I have a gaming PC in my basement and I didn't want to move it out to the garage and really didn't want to buy a second one. So I discovered KVM Extenders. They turn a HDMI and USB signal into Ethernet, then with a 100ft Cat 6 cable to the garage, I can plug in the projector, wireless keyboard and mouse, and Wi-Fi adapter into the KVM box in the garage. This allows the Wi-Fi from the Mevo plus to connect to my PC in the basement (I hope, this is the only thing I haven't tried since not receiving the mevo yet). I also hope to try hooking a USB hub into it to see if that works as well for other things. Mevo should be shipped out any day, cant wait!
Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. The floor is not the greatest for simulator use, but, It was cheap and works good enough for me. someday I'll get a proper hitting mat. Its on the list of upgrades, but after some bathroom renos, a new fridge, and this, I think I'm done for a while. haha. A lot of the stuff I used, I found from others builds on here, so thanks a lot!
