When attaching to angle iron, how do you size the frame?

I've ordered a Carl's Premium with grommets and finished edge. I'm building an enclosure with wooden studs and will attach angle iron to hang my screen. Carl's EMT cages are 4.75" larger than the screen itself. When using angle iron, how much larger should the enclosure be than the screen? Downsize an EMT cage by 3 inches since the circumference of a 1" pipe is 3.1"?

You could frame the screen thereby covering the exposed sides where the grommets are attached to bungees. I use Polypropylene Marine Carpet Material I got from Walmart. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Attwood-1...-Long/38057094

It is inexpensive, easily attaches with velcro, looks great, and very effective.

That's exactly my plan. I was wondering how much space is needed between the screen and the attachment points. Of course, that space will be covered up later like you mention.

I installed a Carl's screen using angle iron and bungees. I sent them the dimensions of the room and the rep there told me it would fit fine. It really should have been made an inch or two smaller to get more tension across the screen.

Thinking this through some and I've decided to make it 9.5" wider than the screen. That's 4.75" on all sides. Thanks for the replies.

Hhk27 just wondering how this turned out. I’m about to do something similar in my garage. I’m planning on angle iron and I bought a 9x16 premium finished screen from Carl’s with grommets.

What did your frame size end up being? I have studs on the right but I need to build a frame on left side (screen doesn’t reach left wall of garage) so it would be help ful to know.

Also what bungees did you use to attach to the angle iron?
