After months of planning my project is finally underway! Due to 7’ ceilings in my basement I had the concrete cut and removed along with 3’ 9” of dirt taken out. My mason is starting on a new concrete floor and walls to tie into existing footings next week. Stairs will lead down into the "pit" and then there will be an adjacent room about 10' wide by 30' deep that will have playroom for kids, bathroom, bar top/stools with a 3' knee wall separating it from the sim room while still allowing for them to flow together (will post pics soon).
Approximate finished dimensions are 21’ deep x 13’ wide for sim room. I have my turf, hitting mat, launch monitor (skytrak w/ E6), gaming PC, etc all purchased. At this point I’m looking for some guidance on building my enclosure. I want a custom built in look (per attached pic). And even more than the building of the enclosure (my dad is a contractor so not worried about the build per se) but the attachment of the screen within the enclosure, baffles around the sides of the screen, and wall/ceiling materials inside the enclosure.
I’ve looked at DIY enclosures at Carl’s, All Sports Systems, etc but thinking building a wooden enclosure makes more sense so it has the built into room look. Planning on a 12' wide x 9' tall screen and standing with hitting mat 9'6" from screen.
Has anyone worked with Gimmie Simulators/Ace Indoor Golf and specifically their 2 piece custom screen? I was referred to them by a rep @ Foresight.
Planning on putting R19 insulation in between the floor joist along with sheetrock. Any opinions on this with respect fo noice cancellation in the room above the sim upstairs?
Lastly, input on a projector would be appreciated as well. I'd like to stay in the $1500 and less range.
