Current progress of my sunken basement simulator room

Simulator room progress so far:

Went down 4 feet to give 10' 11 inches of clearance we have a few family members who are over 6'4.

first picture is the best before picture I have unfortunately, this room has been gutted.

It is getting closer today as they finished running electrical and ethernet all over, will be setting up two ethernet cameras as well.

Looks good, I can't wait to see the final results. You will have lots of fun. I almost completed my simulator and it still missing a tarp cover on the ceiling but I find myself playing at midnight.

What size is the cutout in the floor?

11.5' wide and 15' in length.. I wanted 16 length but we ran into some issues.. so basically will be hitting 9' into the screen

It was a pricy project, and the company doing it has a connection to one of my good friends so we got a little bit of a deal too.

The whole project is 25k, that includes tearing down to studs, relocating a tankless heater, knocking down walls and rebuilding, all new electrical through out. It also includes installation of the enclosure, sound proofing, all padding, flooring, etc.. Any costs that come up that we need to add are covered. I had to buy all the simulator aspects (enclosure, skytrak, cameras, projector, computer)

The excavation is hard to say what it cost since it was all inclusive deal, but I have to imagine it was a large bulk of the price. The guys counted how many buckets of dirt and concrete they had to take out. Each truck took 228 buckets, and they used 11 trucks!

We actually talked to our real estate agent before doing the project to see if this will hurt or help our resell value, and he told us we would see our investment back if not more if you find the right buyer. I live in Rochester Ny and is very heavy in golfers, and well as many know we get a lot of snow during the winter.

Ok, thanks for the detail. Pretty much in the same boat here in New England. Have a perfect basement (with a DIY movie room already), but only 8' ceilings, so my hitting bay is in the garage. Thought on and off about tearing up the basement, but there's no way to do that easily and without some major work. Doing the whole thing for that price is probably on the reasonable side...anyway, good luck and enjoy...looking forward to the before/after shots!
