So looking for some advice. I would like to make a portable/collapsible build that can be taken down as well as loaded into the truck (rarely, but mostly in winter to buddies garage). By in large it will be used outside hitting into a net to start and then look to upgrade into a screen in future, but need to take it down due to both city by-laws and my wife.
It will be with a Mevo+ and looking to have about 18 feet of playing surface from screen to Mevo. The plan is to have 3 wooden platforms made with 2x2x8's, does anyone use multiple base system that they connect together? Any recommendations on what I could use to connect the different platforms that can be disconnected with ease for storage in the shed and out of the elements.
Also what is the minimum width of the hitting are to allow for left and right handed hitters. I imagine assuming a 1 foot wide hitting area and 3.5 ft on each side of the hitting area, would that be sufficient?
For the cage portion I'd like to have it 10 feet wide and then an angled side to catch my shanks, any type of material that would allow it to fold inward or would PVC be the best and disconnect it for take down?
