  • Impact screen location

I am building my first simulator project.

4;3 aspect ratio and screen will be 9 by 12.

I have about 12 feet of ceiling height.

My question is should I mount screen more to the top to catch wedge shots and leave more space on bottom or center equally.

Frame size will equal ceiling height.

    Thanks

Neither. You need the screen to be touching the floor (or close to it). For a screen that is 9 high I would go about 9.5 or 10 high for the enclosure.

Agree with the above. Having the screen slightly longer helps with worm burners. I would say you would have a few inches laying flat on the floor in front of the screen. Not all builds do this, but I believe it is common. You will also have to account for a little gap at top and sides as the screen will need to attach somehow to your structure (most use bungees and also a lot are using tarp clips that are either attached with bungees or zip ties). Thus on the top and sides you will also need to devise a way to protect for errant shots. There is a discussion on this over the past couple of days regarding high launch angle shots and someone looking to protect from bounce back and there is some good solutions offered (best one in my opinion had pics included).

you could always add a slope/ramp below the screen if you wanted to go higher. It will just launch the worm burners up into the screen.
