A sincere thank you to this group for the insights and discussion that helped my basement build become a reality. My setup doesn't have anything too outside the box but I'd be happy to answer any questions or share some links to products if anyone is pulling together a similar build. Cheers!

Great job!!! I am just at the point of building (have all of the components, turf, etc., foundation is poured and framing started soon) My concern is space. I'll have 17' width which I think will be very sufficient for R & L hitters, but only 24.5' in depth. I have already purchased a long bar table similar to yours but not sure if it will work. I'm planning on having 10' tee-to-screen and putting the table 7' behind the tee assuming that’s enough safe swinging space. I hope that will leave just enough room to navigate between the bar table/stools and back wall.
How far is your tee to screen and how close is the bar table to the tee?Last edited by Toothboy; 04-14-2021, 10:35 PM.

Thanks for the complement - I was very happy with how everything turned out. I'd recommend just taking a few swings to see how everything lays out but you should be 100% good to go with those dimension. For reference, I bought a 15x15 piece of turf and cut it down to fit my space but what remains is 14' of width near the screen and 15' depth. I'm 9' ball to screen so that leaves 6' from ball to back of turf. With the mevo, I added a little extension to get the mevo+ back to about 7' to 7.5' to ball and it has worked great. I'm 6'1" and I have a buddy that's also 6'1" and a lefty and we haven't had a single swing hit the ceiling, wall, or table yet.

WOW MidwestGolfer_33 - that's one amazing looking build... What are you using for Turf as it looks like one piece framed up in something? As far as other things go, what's all the plastic up around the ceiling for? Is that your shot blocking for high shots, etc? A nice list, with links to where you purchased things would be nice, and also it looks like you have a fair amount of space there? What is it exactly?

Thanks much - it was the perfect COVID project! I went with a 15'x15' piece of the TFD Putting Elite and cut it to fit my space. My subfloor is 19/32" plywood, 1/2" gym matts, and then the turf. I then just bought some 1 1/2" molding and stained it the same as the bar and nailed it into the plywood layer to leave a nice clean edge. I have a fairly open basement but this part of it is 14' wide, to the back of the turf is 15', and 9' ceilings. My stairs come down where you see the turf square off so I gave it an angle to keep a good walkway. All of that remnant is perfect for the DIY divot action insert that I put in. I should have enough extra turn to build out about 8-10 more as they wear. Since it's in my basement, i didn't want to go crazy with the expensive soundproofing but wanted to try to make it a bit quieter so I put a layer of fiberglass insulation up and wanted to make sure that fiberglass wouldn't rain down if people bumped the ceiling. I bought a roll of black duck canvas to go over the plastic for a little cleaner look but am holding off on installing until i'm happy with all the speaker wire, wii extension, and xbox kinect extension wire running through the ceiling to my AV receiver and tech hub that's separated from the sim area. I'll send you my spreadsheet - most of it should be up to date but i pivoted on a few things late in the game (like the lights concentrated on the hitting area) but it should be a good start and let me know if you have questions.
