    Garage Sim Enhancements

I have made some relatively inexpensive enhancements in my garage sim which I thought I would share with the community
    • DIY projector slide/rail $29
I have 12’ ft ceilings in my garage. I originally mounted my projector using a pole mount to the ceiling but have since shifted the position of the screen enclosure. As I had to remount my projector I decided to create a slide that would make positioning the projector a little easier for me. Using an aluminum pocket door track and hardware set from HD (originally purchased for a basement closet door), I created a DIY projector rail. Pleased with how well and stable it works. Be sure to cap the ends.

Pocket door track and hardware set from HD $29
½” sanded plywood - had an extra piece in my shed
    • Custom golf sim curtains from Chicago canvas. $214 delivered - Quick turnaround for 12’ x 5’ curtains. Very good quality and very good price.
    • Custom garage door window coverings from Peaks Tarps - $114 delivered 3 garage doors. $38 each
    • Turf solution: HD Grizzly Grass 12’ x 14’ ( 0.79 sq ft) $132 - looks good and works well over interlocking foam tiles.
    • LED Spot Light: $26 Amazon - Have it hung at 12’ ft above hitting area and it does a nice job of lighting hitting surface. Might grab another one to enlarge the lighted area.

$515 in enhancements above have improved the feel of the space

I really like the way that slide track looks and turned out. Will have to keep that one in mind.

richerod I really like the garage window coverings. What sizes did u order (I have both a single and double door to cover) and how did u attach to the door. Right now I cut some 1” foam which press fits in the window openings but kind of a pain to take in and out

I custom ordered from Peaks Tarps:

          Black Industrial Stage Curtain, 1’10”H x 8’7”W
          - made from 600x300D PVC-Backed Polyester (Non-Fire-Retardant)
          - black grommets every 12” on the top side of each curtain
          - black 2:-wide polypropylene webbing on the hem (all 4 sides), on the front-facing side of each curtain

I use magnetic hooks to hold the coverings to metal trim on the doors. Her is link to hooks https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You could also hold them up with velcro.
