Finally a dream of mine has come to reality. Funny enough how this all started with a Spornia SP-7 for me to hit around in the back yard. I was tired of putting it up and down due to weather so I quickly moved it into the garage...thats when things got out of hand.
I decided at first to purchase a Skytrak and just use the small hitting mat the Spornia came with and mount a spare tv. So I painted the garage and mounted a tv. Then I was like hmmm wedge shots are hitting the concrete floors and bouncing up so I purchased gym mats. At the same time I’m like yeah I need a better hitting mat so I bought the club champion hitting net. Keep in mind during this time I was expecting the Skytrak to take a couple of months to arrive so I figured I had plenty of time to execute my plans...so the gym mats come in and I set them up and I’m like okay good to go. Then the kids and the fiancé start to hit to the net and I’m like yeah this isn’t going to work I need a better hitting area. So I then picked up a hitting bay randomly after drinking tooooo much bourbon one night. Hitting bay comes in and I’m like well CLEARLY I need a projector now. The projector is the ONLY thing I wish I would’ve taken more time to purchase. I picked up a viewsonic 600 ST, it works and the kids love watching movies but I will be upgrading to an HD unit sometime soon. So I have all of that installed and I’m like hmmm it just doesn’t look complete so I purchased turf to go on top of the mats. Viola it looks professionalishhhh now! Suddenly on Friday the Skytrak arrives and with the help from my fiancé she surprises me and decorates the walls and my desk!
I still need to figure out lighting, a slightly better projector and some good seating once the garage is more cleared out. But I’m thrilled with the results!
