Guys,
Im looking for a company to build a garden office in bromley ( UK ) that I can use for a golf simulator.......
Having quotes now, still looking for that good builder who will build what I want and not an off the shelf kit they already have. Im getting quotes the same cost as a loft extension, but for garden office. As soon as you say you want it as a golf simulator people double the cost.
question 1: without a lot of extra work I have 4m X 6m room. Speaking to golf systems they told me I really need 5m wide to stand with the target line in the middle. Would 4m wide be a big enough room ? will I ( right hander ) be able to swing a driver and aim down the middle ?
question 2: I've read you have the wall, then 30cm to screen and then you stand 8ft ? 10ft away from screen ? what is the safe distance to stand away from screen as not to be struck by a ball bouncing off the screen back at me ?
question 3: How real are the simulated golf games ? I wanted to spend £2,500 on launch monitor etc, is it like playing golf, where you aim on the screen, does the direction and aim feel real ?
question 4: PUTTING......I was going to have a proper putting surface, can you in the golf simulator stop, do a couple of putts and then go back to simulator and add 2 puts into score ? do you put at screen etc ?
BUDGETS:
I really wanted to spend £25,000 on office in garden.
I have a good projector and top spec laptop so was going to just buy the screen, enclosure, curtains, and then launch monitor etc and software. I had a budget of about 4k to 5K
Is this enough ? could I have a decent looking simulator setup for that ? Am I miles off ?
grateful for any advice, any pics of your simulator setup helpful
Alan
