  • Newbie thinking of a build

Ok so just bought a mevo+. I have a room in the house that i would like to use but i have to be able to take the system down easily. Wife won’t let me keep it up. Was thinking about the net return pro. Looks like it is pretty easy to set up and take down. I don’t mind if it takes about 30 minutes to do just don’t want it to take to long. I wanna also use a projector but i can’t hang from ceiling cause it is 20’ high ad can’t leave it up. Eventually i will get a gaming pc but right now it is ipad. What would be a decent budget projector and hitting mat that will get me started. Also what screen. How do i use a projector on the ground? Does it have to be in the middle of hitting area? just wondering how that would effect putting?
    Thanks for the help.

you can do a floor mount projector. would mount in 5-6 ft from screen range. gets a little pricey since it an ultra short throw. plus you need box. looking at around 1100 for projector and box and cable. would have to mount in middle of screen

best mat is a real feel mat that holds a real tee. Runs about 430 for a 5 x 5.

most golf enclosures are a little time consuming setting up and taking down due to all the ties/bungees. A net return with optional screen would probably be the easist.

A hanging screen is another option.

The NetReturn has two different projector screens that can be added onto it. For the projector you can always get a projector shield, or put it on a computer cart directly behind you. Certain projectors can be offset pretty far to the right or left, so you would just want something with a horizontal lens shift on the projector.

After looking into it i saw some projectors with horizontal keystone. Thinking that might work. If I do a floor mount i would still need offset? Thinking if i put it right in front of me i would not be able to putt. The room i have is about 25’ wide by 35’ long and 20’ high. I have a bay window that has a shelf about 2.5’ off the ground might be a good spot for projector. I think net return with screen might be best option. Will the side barriers get in wa of projector though? That is one of my concerns. If i get a floor mount with horizontal shift would that work? Or does it have to be off the ground? Also i am running ipad now but eventually will get a computer. I want a mat i can also put on. Again thanks for the help. I will look at your site, might have you quote something out for me.

our projector box is angled and has a triangle pad on back in case you hit a low shot. you can use a projector with a horizontal keystone, but it would also have to be a ultra short throw. that can get a little pricey. plus the keystone is limited to how far you can offset it. Each one is different. the other option is a frame mount projector, but that would have to be a permanent setup. maybe you can sell your wife on the fact that the enclosure can double as a home theater. Then she might let you keep it up all the time

I found a net return pro 2 series with screen and side barriers about 2 hours away from me i can get for $750. I think this might be a good way to go. I was looking at frame mount but no way will she let me do that. It’s the front room with nice furniture. I am going on vacation for a week and if it is still available ill get it. Then once i set everything up i can see how far away from screen i can put a projector and where then can make decision on what projector and mat i can get.
