I just "finished" my simulator setup (minus the actual simulator/LM, on order from SkyTrak). We bought our house in September of 2020 which came with an outdoor shed that was originally built/installed in 1988, but had been rebuilt recently (~2015). Shed measures 15' deep by 12' wide by 12' tall and is on a slab. There was a bunch of old wood and a second story storage platform all of which I tore out. The cleanup/prep work was by far the biggest portion of this build. I ran electrical from the house and installed a light and some outlets.
Trying to DIY this on a budget I went with some cheap masonite paneling from Home Depot that had a shiplap design to it for the walls - I wouldn't recommend this as structurally it isn't great but given the price of lumber it worked out fine. The turf is from Home Depot as well I believe it was $0.73/sqft. I used the cheapest 1/2" puzzle gym tiles I could find on Amazon as my base layer. The combination of the tiles with the turf on top worked even better than I thought it would. Solid walking/putting foundation that deadens the ball perfectly falling from the screen.
Quick thank you to everyone who has ever posted on this board - so many great tips. This one I found on here that I will pass along.. If you're ordering an impact screen from Carl's Place - check the clearance items, I got lucky and found the perfect size for my space for a fraction of the price for a premium screen. It had 2 small brown smudges on the screen, but for the cost savings I do not mind. Hardly notice them at all.
I mounted a 10' superstrut bar across the top to hang my screen and then used some Husky anchor points (photo attached) to bungee in the sides. The anchor points were only $5 for a 4-pack from Home Depot - these worked great if you are mounting directly to a wall/studs.
I found a Sony 40" Bravia TV at Goodwill for $50 which I mounted in front of the hitting space and will hook the launch monitor up to that. Projector will come in the future once my wallet recovers from everything else.

Additional quick tip: I purchased a pack of foam practice balls off Amazon as well. My initial thought was my wife could use these for practice as she's not comfortable hitting real balls due to fear of damage - she would not hit until I bought these and now she enjoys taking some swings. I also like to let others hit the foam balls at first to get used to hitting in the shed before hitting real balls. I myself have found I prefer using these far more than I thought I would. When I'm warming up or if I'm working on something new in my swing I like to use these foam balls in case I shank one. They are also much quieter if you're worried about neighbors.
