Ideas how to get more use out of nets for quiet setups

Since nets are really the only way to have a more quiet setup, anybody have any ways to increase the longevity as they break so easily? Idea I thought of is to cut a bunch of long strips of a bed sheet and string them in front of the net, kind of like those bead door curtain things. At least 3 layers deep so there's no gaps. I'm thinking that the sheet will act as a barrier between the golf ball and the net so that the spin won't slice it up. And since these strips will have a lot of give and be airy, there won't be much of a sound. Should be durable too - if a strip tears, just replace it. Think this could work? Any other creative ideas?

And just to make sure balls don't fly through, double net it or put a sheet behind.

I would test but I'm in a small apartment now. And the kind of place I move into next depends on if I can figure out how to get a quiet setup going.

I have a par2pro sq screen, hardly makes any sound at all. Now ball coming off driver and woods is a completely different story.
