Hey everyone. First time poster, but I have been following the forum for over a year and have learned enough that I feel like I’m ready to get started on my build.
This was accelerated today, when I found a great deal for some of the stuff I would need to get started and make some quick progress on Craigslist (which I would need to pick up tomorrow since he is moving).
The biggest issue I need to decide on now is if I actually have a space that will work or not. And if so which one is best.
Thank you everyone for your time and advice. I have two rooms that I think could work (It’s basically one room attached but the furnace in the middle separating them. Below are the specs and pics are attached.
Room 1 (brewing wall):
14’Wx17’L
Duct- 8’2” (and there are two)
(8’10” to the wooden beams
Would have to offset it toward the windows to miss the duct on the backswing, and could not have the swinging point past 11ft, or that puts me too close to the furnace.
Room 2 (xmas tree wall):
12’10”Wx16L
Same ceiling size but only 1 duct, this way it would be in front for right handed golfer, so would need far less off set, could be more or less straight on
I’m wondering if it’s even worth it with the height being just over 8 ft with the duct, but it’s close to 9ft to the beam, I also would hang plexiglass in front of any window.
My initial thought was a net return pro, and adding a screen to that if I use the brewing wall, since I could move it farther to the right of the room to lose some offset, I feel like if I go with wall 2 it may be better, and I could center the screen. I was also considering the more “bay” style simulator, especially if I can use wall 2.
I am 6’1 and can do a full swing in either room if I swing in the right location.
Thanks again for any feedback and advice.
Shane
