I am in the framing stage of a new house and have a nice space above the garage for a simulator. Got a a few questions I need advice on. My space has a cathedral shaped roof line and is approx 13’ high at the flat part.
Would I be better off lowering the ceiling to make it easier to install a ceiling mounted projector or leave as is before they drywall? If so what would be optimum height to make the ceiling. I’m struggling to figure out how low I need to install the projector to avoid hitting it and also not have an issue with the top of the cage blocking the source. I am open to building a custom cage if that helps.
I have two options for screen size. The largest I can get is a 14’x8’ which would give me 16:9 or I could change to a 12’x9’ but then I am 4:3. Which option. Is best for both a simulator and media room for live sports, movies and gaming combination?
I have not bought any hardware yet but looking at a Skytrack system. Any suggestions on projector would also be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.
