Optimum positioning of mat and ball (GC Quad)

I have a home simulator with the GC Quad.

The mat is positioned left of centre, meaning the ball is exactly in the centre of the screen. I've entered the measurements into room config tool etc and all is aligned properly for FSX.

Is this optimal or should the mat be centre and the ball just right of centre?

If you have the room behind, the mat being in the center is much preferred. People often offset it to the right (for a RH player) because they would hit a wall behind them with longer clubs
