Best approach with 10x30 archery screen

Hi All,

I’ve been spending a lot of time on this forum to get some ideas and have been super impressed with the variety of set ups.

i was fortunate to have found a 10x30 archery screen that I was able to snag for $30. I am looking to go about 10ft wife, and 8 feet length wise. My initial thoughts were to get some heavy duty tracks and try to essentially loop the entire archery net around them (behind impact screen, and on the sides). I read an awesome post about a polyester drop cloth screen in front of archery netting so wanted to go with that set up. The only thing I’m lost with, is even if I can loop the 10x30 archery netting all the way around, how do I now hang the polyester drop cloth screen? Could I use tarp clips and clip it to the top and bottom of the archery net? Only fear is id imagine it would be pretty loose. Also thought about another curtain track for the drop screen but still doesn’t really address the challenge of not being able to have much tension.

last thing is wondering if I should just get some emt.

any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You could go to Harbor Freight and buy their Grommet Kit - the cheapest you can find anywhere. Then all you have to do is pound grommets into the edges of whatever you want to hang and then get some Ball Bungees that you would use to attach the screen to your EMT cage. You can buy the EMT at Home Depot and get the corner fittings at a Tarp Fitting site (just look for tarp fittings on google as they will be MUCH cheaper than buying a "simulator kit."

I tested the polyester drop cloth (also known as a photography backdrop) in front of my impact screen. I used tarp clips because I had not taken the time to add the grommets. It works, but in my setup, the space between the drop cloth and impact screen makes the impact sound lots louder. I am still planning on adding grommets to my drop cloth so I can tighten it using the same ball bungees I am using to hold up my impact screen. I'm hoping that giving it a little tension will cut down on the cracking sound of impact.
