Putting carpets / projectors and enclosures

    Guys,

I need some help, Im building a golf simulator, Skytrak, 13ft screen by 10ft high.......

    I have some burning questions.....

I want to use Direct grass, to supply a putting carpet and use it over the floor so I can put some holes and use it for putts. Has anyone used the 15mm Grass and is it realistic ? Let me know if anyone has used one and what you used as I would rather buy a tested product. The normally are about £25 to £30 per sq foot.

Next question, for ease I was going to mount the projector on the floor, short throw, case over the top.....Does this cause it to over heat ? is the picture as good ? ( cant see why not ?) any suggestions?

I want a hitting mat which has a strip for tee shots and fairway hits, then a 1st or and 2nd cut of rough. Ideally 50mm thick to really make it hard to swing. Is there such a mat or do I buy the individual strips and do it myself ? the divot mat only seems to sell to US, Ive seen some cheaper ones on Ebay but not really with feedback Want it to last a few hits.

I thinking of thick curtains at side as they are cheaper and I can open them when not using it to make more light in the room. for the ceiling I was gong to use these pads from eBay, do you think they would do ?

    those in black ?

The projector Optoma GT1080 seems a good modeller not much more than £575.....anyone used it before ? seems standard for golf sims.

Any pics or suggestions , I have 13ft wide and 10ft high and need an impact screen......

    Rgds
    Alan
