Is 16’ wide enough for right and left handed golfers?

Hey guys, just starting my golf swim build. My dimensions I am planning on our: 16 feet wide by 20 feet deep with 11 foot ceilings. I will be using them Mevo plus,
and I’m building this for right and left handed players. I’ve read that 12 to 15 feet wide will work for right and left-handed players so I hope 16 feet will be plenty. Mocking this up, with the ball in the center at 8 feet kind of feels tight to me. So I want to make sure this will work. But I’ve read two articles lately that are stating that right handers need 9 to 10 feet to swing and left-handers need 10 to 14 feet to swing. I do not understand why left-handers need more room. So before I finish this construction I want to be sure that 16 feet wide will be plenty of room. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

16 ft is plenty to center for RH/LH. Dont know where you heard 10-14 ft for LH. Makes zero sense.

Thanks, it just seemed like my follow through was close to the wall.
I read about lefties needing more room in two different articles. It doesn’t make sense to me either.

Yea, it doesn’t make sense to me. My Son is left handed and I see no difference.

Sixteen feet is fine for center hitting. I think 15' is the magic number for a minimum, so anything greater is of course better.

Remember you will lose 3 inches on each side with studs and drywall.

Actually you would lose 4” (3-1/2” 2x4 and 1/2” Sheetrock) on each side, but my 16’ is inside the studs so I’m really only losing 1/2” on each side when I add Sheetrock.

my room is 15' wide and it was too tight to centre hit for both left and right handed. the tighter the space you have, the more it impacts your brain and you won't swing freely...I would ensure you can get a mat that allows for flex to not have centred hitting if you find it too tight.

I have a commercial set up and for 95 percent of golfers 16 is enough but when I build my new set up Iam
going 17 feet wide , that extra foot makes a difference

Most launch monitors have 12 inches or so window to hit out of, which allows you to move a little either way. 16 feet is good enough but also agree that if you have control over the width of room then go bigger.
