• PC far away from sim room

Does anyone have their PC far away from their sim room?

Currently my gaming PC is in my office and the simulator I am building is located in my garage.

It would be very difficult(and expensive) to hard-wire from my gaming PC to the projector or my incoming Launch Pro so a wireless solution would be preferred

I also don't want to purchase a new PC just for my sim room.

Has anyone figured out a solution to house the sim PC in a different room?

Is it safe to say the your garage is not attached? I had to run 300' of cable to my pole barn, was actually not that expensive as it is a do it yourself project because cable does not need to be buried very deep. I then bought two Motorola ethernet over coax adapters on Amazon. They basically take the ethernet off your modem/router, adapts to coax which you can then run a great distance, and then use another adapter to take it off the coax and convert back to ethernet. In my case I put a wifi access point in my barn. Run my Skytrak and TGC flawlessly with full broadband speed. As a bonus I have full cable TV in my sim room as well.

The garage is attached but luckily it just works!

The BLP is connected to my home network and my computer across the house is able to see it on the same network. nothing special needed!

This is how i run it in my garage:

Components:
-PC in office running FSX 2020
-BLP in garage connected to wifi
-Apple laptop in garage connected to wifi running remote desktop

Order of operations:
-Turn on BLP in Garage
-Open FSX 2020 on the PC and make sure it can see the BLP
-In the garage boot up remote desktop on the laptop and take control of the PC
-Start the range or sim course and swing away!

Here is a picture of my setup in the garage

See this thread too: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...n-two-ocations

Both KVM over IP and KVM over ethernet are ideas. You could also remote into the gaming PC from another computer or tablet. That was not a great experience for me. The KVM is basically a direct connection with no lag.
