    Garage Sim Upgrade

    My garage sim has gone through many variations over the past 1.5 years. I'm always looking to make things better. My latest upgrade -- covering the entire landing area with putting turf -- is one of the greatest things I've ever done. I know this isn't groundbreaking but from where I was with my stance/hitting mat sliding all over the place and a poor putting area it's a big upgrade. I used 1" EVA interlocking rigid foam tiles and covered it with Rymar Pro Putt turf and recessed a YGT-3D hitting strip into the turf. I' going to add some putting cups I ordered from Birdie Ball to make the 250 sq. ft. a putting area.

    When my wife came in the garage and said "I guess I'll never be parking in here again" I replied "that's correct, honey.".

    Well, I don't have a Mevo+ anymore, I've since upgraded to a Foresight GC2. But to answer your question, yes that is why I have the extra piece in the back, for the Mevo+ to sit on. The EVA foam underlay is attached to the rest of the underlay but I have a separate piece of turf that just sits on that. It was an offcut I purchased from Synlawn for about $50. The reason I did that is because I didn't want to pay for a full piece and then only use 40% of it.

      What turf do you feel rolls a putt better, Rymar or Synlawn? I’m having a hard time deciding for my sim build.

        They should be comparable for roll but I'd recommend Synlawn. It just is a higher quality turf, in my opinion.
