Again, unless I'm misunderstanding you… you drop back on a line away from the hole in "real golf," too.

An unplayable ball has three options:
1. Stroke and distance.
2. Two clublengths.
3. Back on a line away from the hole.

The line of flight is irrelevant. Even when you cross a margin of a penalty area, the only time the "line it was hit" matters is in determining the point at which it crossed the margin of the penalty area, at which point you can go back on a line away from the hole once again.

Well that's the way (Drop on a line back from the pin) it is in the E6 game, but that's not the way it's done in real golf.

I sent in a request to E6 and they responded that it was a known problem and they were having the team work on it, but they had no estimate on a fix.

Have you missed any left or right , just wondering how protected the curtain is there, is there any padding behind it ? Looks like you have a slope from the screen back to hitting mat , is that the case ? Awesome setup !!

I haven't hit the sides yet but the net hangs 6 inches from the wall so I think it will be fine. I had to send my ceiling net back for proper sizing and to get grommets added that were forgotten. I learned that the tees don't go as far into the mat as they do into turf so have managed to put numerous dents into the temporarily unprotected ceiling. My son did about 6 and I even managed 1. I cut a few tees down and it's okay now.

No slope from the screen. The picture is a panorama so is a bit distorted.

I have managed to get this done through horrendous construction circumstances. Crazy high cost of everything. Every contractor and tradesman is booked solid, sometimes months in advance. I was lucky to only have a few long waits and was able to do a lot of the work myself.

I/we tried not to cheap out on anything so it does look great. Screen is over 14 feet wide and the room is plenty large. I figure I could have saved thousands sourcing the sim stuff myself but my wife felt more comfortable with a complete package so that's what we did. I am extremely lucky my wife loves to golf almost as much as me. (130 plus rounds in a season from mid April to early November)

What did you use for your grass looking carpet around the screen - I am looking at surrounding my golf hitting mat from the mat to the impact screen

I used turf from

OMG! that's an amazing setup, very classy... let me know what size net you purchase, and how you protect ceiling, I'll be needing to add that in the next few days and want to make sure I'm covered!

This is our almost final result. Spent way more than anyone should to get it done including adding a 16 X 22 piece to our house.

Our first impression is that it looks great and there is lots of functionality but so far it's not all it should be. The shot distances seem quite far off despite several calibrations. We basically confirmed this today by playing a real round of golf on closing day for our course. I have read there are tweaks that can be done for better accuracy so we're hoping this will help.

We also had a mis-sized ceiling net we have to send back and we will have to do some ceiling repairs after we get it back as the ceiling has taken a bunch of hits. (My son skyed 5 balls the first time playing and I've done two. None of these shots came close to the sensor. The tees don't go as far into the turf so we had to do some adjustments to them.

I like that there is no lag in the system and the huge screen looks awesome. We have the E6 software and are still working out some kinks. The hitting mat and turf are really nice and the screen is amazing. Quiet and almost zero bounce back.

I also bought a couple shot cameras from AliExpress and they work quite well with normal lighting. I will probably add some more light for practice as we do get a bit of blur with the 120 FPS.

It will be fun to play through the winter and we will reassess if we can't get some more realistic shot readings.
