I think Ron at gunghogolf could help you. Tons of great feedback on his business. I considered using him as a consultant but had a friend with experience to help me get there. Anyhow I believe he charges $100 an hour to consult. Mort people can get setup for around $7,500 with either Mevo + or skytrack.

Do a Google search for Leomode. You should come up with his website and on it he has a lot of sim info. I know he did a review from a Korea trip where he has a summary review of a bunch of systems including Bravo I believe). Should be a good source of info for you.

seach this side for the QED and other systems. Your budget might be a bit tight for all parameters you are searching for, but there is a lot of info on this site.

I'd suggest you evaluate launch monitors first. If you really want club data, I think that requires a higher cost LM. If you have the LM data you could keep swinging into a net. Could then get a cheap cell phone camera stand to take video of your swing. Several apps exist to help analyze swing video. Between the video and the data you can work to improve. Computer and software can bring some extra data views. Projector and screen are arguably luxuries. If you want the full package (which is fun!), then that reduces the LM options to fit in your budget.

So it seems like there's 2 basic things I need to focus on. First being able to record my actual swing and be able to view on a tv so I can see it easily. Plus need software to analyze and compare to good swings like pros. I did buy the Salted foot pressure insoles for my golf shoes and the Zepp 3d swing analyzer that clips to my glove but so far having trouble with my internet connection in the garage. Need to get that working and then figure out how to get it displayed on my tv. I think I'll decide about step two later. Thanks for your help and advice you guys it's much appreciated!

Jim, I also felt like I had to add video to my simulator (Skytrak) so I went to Amazon and bought a $50, high speed USB camera (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N1C81HB...t_details&th=1). I then downloaded the FREE tool called Kinovea which recognizes the camera and records video for you. Once you stop the recording, you can "set a working zone" in the video and watch your swing frame by frame with a slider. Works great!

I was an over-the-top, fader and was not able to tell what was happening in my swing until I saw my ulgy-ass swing on video. What I was able to realize was that my right shoulder was moving forward and my right elbow was pointing backwards, not down. With this movement, I could ONLY go over the top.

Like you, I had the resources and space to build a simulator, so I did. Its very cool and very accurate, but I would probably have been better off to take lessons from a reputable pro ;0). Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving up my simulator for golf lessons, but I would probably have improved more quickly than I have.

Jim, slight tangent. As you say you're a 36 handicapper - as a suggestion I'd focus on spending your money on lessons with a teaching pro (PGA certified) and hitting with them at the range, etc. Then practicing at home. That will be your best bang for buck.
Videoing yourself and trying to "somehow analyze my swing on a tv screen and also see the ball/club face interaction I can teach myself in the privacy of my home" is a bit of a recipe for disaster at your handicap level, honestly.

By all means get a sim (this is a sim forum after all...) and use it to practice what the coach tells you. Don't try and teach yourself.
Most pros use technology to video your swing (eg V1 golf) that they can analyse and share with you. (My coach does this and it's great). Look for a pro that does a package of say 2 lessons a month for 6 months with a couple of playing lessons as well. These are great for continuous improvement and repetition.

And no I'm not a teaching pro, nor affiliated with the PGA of America, etc. Just looking out for your golf development and improvement, particularly at a 36 handicap.

Ok you guys, I bought the Bushnell Launch Pro. Now I'm trying to figure out the screen/projector thing and having trouble figuring it out. I've got a 16' wide wall that's 10-4" high. I want to mount the projector about 8' from the screen. I can't figure out how to use the projector central calculator. I want a laser 4k I think. Someone told me to go with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Carl's came up with a projector that costs 5k, plus 13' from the screen which will create a lot of work for me. Any thoughts? Same thing happening with the computer build. I'm running out of vodka trying to figure this out. Someone told me that the computer, projector, image/screen all have to have the same aspect ratio to fill the entire screen.

Did your budget change? Just read your first post and you just spent 35-60% of your budget on an LM. 4k laser projectors are nice but that's really high-end on a max 10K budget.

It's not required. 16:10 images are taller than a 16:9 image but you are going to lose some of the 10'4" vertical space due to mounting hardware of the screen with either a retractable screen, kit, or EMT.

That projector is the LK936ST and it's pretty much the top 4K sim projector right now hence the cost. I want one and I am pretty sure if any other user on here saw one in person they would want one too. It's a great choice for a projector just expensive.

If you want a 16' horizontal image you're going to be pretty close to 13' mounting distance no matter which projector you use.

This is just wrong on many different levels. Do not take advice from this person.

Aspect ratios are just a calculation of the horizontal pixel count versus the vertical count. The only rule is projector wise you can't go upward in aspect ratio meaning a 4:3 projector cant produce a 16:9 ratio and a 16:9 projector can't produce a 16:10 ratio given the size of the image you are trying to produce. Well technically they can but the image would look horrible and explaining that is more of a show-and-tell experiment. Given you are using a PC with a dedicated graphics they can, however, go downward in aspect ratio meaning a 16:10 projector can produce a 16:9 and a 4:3 ratio as well as a 16:9 projector producing a 4:3 ratio.

The best thing to do screen-wise is to decide how wide you want it (most would agree wider is better but nothing over 16') and get a 16:9 projector. You can make a 16:9 projector fit any width up to 16'. If it's 15' you can just trim the horizontal pixel count with a custom resolution and make it fit perfectly.

Thank you preludesam! My budget is still $10k, but I know that I'm probably going to exceed that 10% to 20% as I have done with past projects because I miss details that I'm not aware of.
I'm not going to buy that $5k projector.
I'm going to build a rectangular frame that will mount on the floor and ceiling using Carl's premium screen for $1k.
I can mount a set of cables that will run fore and aft to support the side and overhead curtains like a drapery that I can open and close.
So far I'm at close to $5k including the Bushnell at $3300.
I figured a computer under $2k, projector under $2k, I have a good hitting mat but will have to build a 5'x10' removable stance mat around it. I need to park our car in the garage when the simulator is not in use.
I thought a short throw projector would enable me to locate the projector right next to the garage door opener mechanism which is 8' from the screen, but you're saying 13'. So I would also have to move my hitting area back as well to avoid shadows? That opens up a whole new can of worms. There might not be enough room to swing. I might have to remove the storage racks mounted to the ceiling above the garage door. Could install a side mounted garage door opener and raise the door tracks closer to the ceiling. That's another $1500 or so. Ugh!
I also forgot that I'm going to need a n air conditioner to keep everything cool for around $3-$500.
