  • Compensating for garage floor slope

So I will have to build my sim perpendicular to the door, meaning the garage floor slope will make the ball slightly above my feet. I know the actual slope percentage is pretty small, but as someone who has lifted weights with the same slope (think squatting with one leg slightly lower than the other for 4 years) I know it can add up with a lot of reps.

I'm thinking of building a full 10'x10' platform, putting a couple of putting cups near the screen, and possibly dropping the hitting area a little bit to make that area flush with the Camry carpet putting surface. Then just shimming the whole platform a bit to make it as level as possible. Too much? A better way?

I will be dealing with the same problem when i start my build in the next few weeks. My garage has about 1 degree of slope. I am going with a 16'x9'x5' screen/enclosure so i am thinking it would be tough to build a platform that large and get it level with shims. My current plan is to just level the 4'x8' hitting area with some shims and then build a little leveling platform for the mevo+ to sit on. I'm open to ideas and interested to see what others have done with this problem.

I'm also worried about the enclosure not being level and trying to setup up the projector correctly to account for the slope. Not sure how i am going to deal with that yet.

I built a 15x15 platform out of 2x6's. I figured out the elevation change and ripped down each 2x6 so the platform would be level. Took a few hours but its not that difficult. Once you get one board marked and cut just use that as a template for the rest.

It's especially easy to do with a line laser level if you have access to one, since you don't even have to take any slope measurements.

If you're making just a putting surface level, just buy furniture levelers. If you have to stand on it however, that's another story. And might as well buy one of these and use it now to level it, and in the Spring to help train your brain what a 1* or 2* slope feels like on greens:
