    Turf Underlay for stance area

Hey Guys, I m doing a new build in my garage and I have the holy grail hitting strip on its way I just wanted some input on what I should do for the surrounding area. My original plan was to use 1” EVA foam around it then lay my putting turf on top to match the height of the hitting strip. But will the foam be too squishy? I’ve read a lot of people either use the foam or use dricore osb tiles but would that feel too firm? It’s going on my concrete floor just wondering what the consensus is around here since I’ve seen it done a lot of different ways

    thanks

cturcotte87 - you won't find a consensus, it's personal preference. I just posted about mine on another post.

I used 2x4s laid flat (1.5" side) for joists. I then placed foamular 150 between joists, covered it all with 3/4" plywood (formaldehyde-free) and covered that with 1/2" exercise tiles and/or heavy duty equipment mat, these two products:

For turf I have Club Champion (grass tex), which I've not mounted yet... I've got to cut a hole in my floor for 1.) ProTee sensors, 2.) a 4x5 stance mat I purchased, and 3.) hitting strip. Just make sure you lay out where you want all this stuff to go (so you no where to start cutting when it comes time). Likely I'll use rotozips to get the hole started.
