3rd Stall Garage Sim Build (Eye XO)

Figured I'd drop my build out here. Hopefully it helps some others along thier journeys, as I was sure helped by reading a ton of post on here.
My build started a couple months ago. Me and the buddies were going to a local simulator every week and a friend joked that for how much we spent we could probably have built our own by now. I thought about it for about a half second before I decided it was gona happen. I have a great place in my basement that I wanted to use, but with only 8.5 foot ceilings the only real option was the third stall in the garage. I don't want to make this long and boring so I will just list the main parts and post some pics, if anyone has questions or wants more info just ask.

    Uneekor eye xo
    Carls custom 10.25x10.25x6.5 enclosure
    Carls premium screen
    Optima 1090hdr projector
prosource fit foam squares for floor base and wall
    Home depot turf
    Swing Turf 5x5 mat
Rain or Shine golf ball holder thingy
    LG 55" TV (already had)
    Lenovo Legion Gaming PC
    Wireless keyboard and mouse
Light socket extenders and spotlight bulb
Smart color changing bulbs for other lights
    Birtees and golf balls
    TGC 2019

Im probably missing some stuff, but you get the jist.

**No idea why pics aren't in order, apologies**

Wow. Awesome build... this is so helpful. I'm thinking of also doing an EYEXO in a 3rd garage bay as well.

A few questions as I'm planning a very similar looking build in a similar space, as my basement is also too small for a sim.

Where about are you located? Any issues with cold weather?

So enclosure is 10.25 H x 10.25 W x 6.5 D correct? It looks spacious, but how does it feel swinging? Not too cramped?

Did your existing garage door opener and track present any issue? Looks like it's still there?

Looks like both EYEXO and Projector both mounted directly on enclosure?

On the other side of garage, still enough space for 2 cars?

Sorry for all the questions, but your build is fantastic and the closest to what I want to replicate!

I am wondering some of the same things you are. I have a lot of the same equipment he has, but I am currently using Skytrak. It is set up in my Garage in NJ. The garage can get as cold as 48-50 degrees in the coldest part of Winter. I was wondering if the Eye XO would have any issues being exposed to 50 degree temperatures for a period of time.

I had a "jack shaft" garage door opener installed. They mount on the side so all of that framing goes away. $800.00 installed. It's great.

Located in Iowa, gets very cold (below zero right now). I was going to do a minsplit system but didn't like the price so I installed an electric garage heater that hangs from the ceiling at the front of the second stall. It works fantastic. Played last night when it was zero degrees out and the garage was 70. Now it does use significant electricity when it is that cold, but its worth it. I only run it when I'm using the sim so the EYE XO has seen temperatures well below freezing while not being used and have had zero issues. In the summer I plan on doing a portable AC unit mainly to keep the humidity down.

The enclosure is very big and doesn't feel cramped. Hitting zone is 10 ft from screen so youre 3.5 ft from front of enclosure. My only worry before getting it up was the possibility of hitting the front left pole with a bad follow through, but it isn't really an issue, you would have to let go with your right hand and swing out pretty flat to hit it. If someone does that and breaks thier driver I will just laugh at them. My 6'5" step dad has played in it with zero clearance issues. Now my set up is for right handed only, I don't know any leftys so this wasn't an issue for me.

The garage door track and opener would have been an issue. I removed them (cut the tracks) and am waiting to have a high lift door with a side mount opener installed (parts on order) with that set up, it won't be an issue.

Yes, both are mounted on enclosure, this was the main reason for the 6.5 ft sides. It works really well and nothing is mounted to walls so I can take it with me if I move.

There is still room for 2 cars, I can even get the cars and a motorcycle (sideways in front) in the other two stalls if needed. I can then put the snowblower and mower behind the hitting area for storage. When using the sim I take the second car out, move the snowblower and mower over, and have chairs set up in the back left corner for players/spectators. I can attache some pics later. For reference, my 3rd Stall in 11 x 18.5 x 11.

Additinal note: I did everything square on purpose. The screen and the hitting mat are square so that I can rotate them 90 degrees 4 times to get more use out of them. I highly suggest using painters tape or some method to mark everything out before ordering stuff so you cN really get a feel for things, it helped alot and influenced some design changes.

Let me know if you have more questions, happy to help

Thanks for the thorough and quick response. Would definitely love to see more picture later.

Your garage is certainly my main inspiration and model at the moment!

Yeah, I'm curious about the centering and side clearance. Not worried about height or depth.

My third garage bay is on the left side of my garage so right-handers (myself included) would have our backs closer to the side wall and wondering about follow-through after impact for full swings.

I noticed in your setup your garage bay is more conducive for right-handers.

Do you know if the EYEXO software or other software has an offset if I need to move the hitting area over a bit more to the right?

I think if there was a wall an the left side I would still be able to swing just fine with it set up the way it is. Putting the TV/computer on the left would be a little wierd having to turn around to see it, but you have to work with what you have. You could always do a TV/Computer mounted on a rolling cart/stand and put it to the right when using sim and then roll it back into hitting area when not in use.

The Eye XO doesn't have an offset and has to be centered in front of hitting area and 3.5 ft in front, so you just have to mount it in the right spot. Mine for example is mounted offset to the right on the enclosure with the projector mounted basically center right next to it

Are you trying to build yours for right and left handed?

No, not trying to build for both sides, myself and friends are all rightys, was just concerned about left side wall being in the way. The guys are Carl's Place gave me some good advice yesterday and suggested a 7-foot radius around the tee position for clearance should be adequate. and Uneekor's site shows 13' feet width with tee centered, which would be 7.5 feet on either side.

Yeah 13 ft would probably be enough. My third stall is only 11ft wide though. In mine I'm standing near center but the hitting area is offset to the right. Good thing TGC2019 let's you offset camera so your aim point lines up. If your doing a center hitting area, are you planning the offset the hitting mat or getting one wide enough it won't matter?

Realized I never updated this when I got the garage door lift complete. Here it is. Works great. I have a garage door screen installed so I can have it open and keep bugs out.

Looks great. Do your garage floors slope away from the house towards the garage doors? If so did you have to level hitting surface for Eye XO?

They do, but I didn't have to level anything. They eye xo is mounted on the enclosure which is on the sloped floor so everything has the same relative slope, so no issues. The slope is so minimal I'm not sure it would matter that much anyway.

One more question on the Carl's Enclosure. Is it a custom PRO enclosure with the 2" EMT? My understanding from Carl's is that only the PRO enclosures with the 2" EMT are able to mount EYEXO and projector. If that's the case, then I'll probably chat them up to make me a custom size PRO enclosure as I would love to be able to mount both right to the enclosure itself.

I doubt you still need an answer to this, but you are correct. My friend has the DIY enclosure and I seriously doubt it would support mounting anything on it.
