  • First Time Build questions and concerns

Hey all. I’m trying to put a full sim in our new house. The basement isn’t going to work (ceilings are only 7’ 6”) so I’m putting it in the attached garage room. The dimensions are 15.5L x 9’10”W x 9’6” tall. I know it will be tighter but I think it’s possible.

I plan to be offset to the right side of the screen. I’m getting the Bushnell launch Pro as my monitor so it won’t need a lot of space.

as it stands now with the mat I plan to buy (fiberbuilt player preffered combo mat 8x10) my hitting location allows 6.5’ from the ball to the left wall (the one my back is to at address), 6’ directly behind, and 8.5-9’ of flight to the screen.

my main concern is the wall that is to my back at address. Will I Have enough space there? I took a few light swings but I’m concerned about the follow through. I didn’t go full speed as there was still some stuff in there reducing the space slightly.

does anyone have any tips for a limited space setup? I plan to go with all sport systems micro bay or budget bay.

ig anyone has additional recommendations on anything (I’m an open book within budget) I need it all including projector.

Thanks in advance for the help and for welcoming me to the forum.

bcramer11 Welcome, I’m doing a limited space install now, but it’s not as limited as you in width, I have 11’5” width.

see my post in Simulator builds, I’m not sure how well you can pull it off at 9’ of width, but it should be possible, you will likely be offset very close to the wall you are facing when swinging - good luck!

I also have 11.5ft of width. I find a comfortable distance is 8ft ball position to wall behind me.
So with almost 10ft of width, you would have to set up to BLP nearly touching the wall in front of you as I think the ball is positioned 20 inches from the unit. This would give you just about 8 ft from ball to wall behind you.

Yes I am trying to see if FiberBuilt can extend the hitting zone to the right another foot so that the center of my hitting zone is 7.5 feet away. If that is possible the monitor would be at the edge of the mat leaving 24” to the center of the hitting zone…..I know I’ll be pretty offset but I think 2 feet off the side of the screen will work….not entirely sure though
