I'm looking into both options, and correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they remarkably similar? METechs is 1/3 of the price for the same size rollers with motors, so does anyone have a compelling reason to go with GungHo over the METechs setup?

I have the complete MeTech system. Shipped quick, easy to assemble and programming the motor and remote was simple. I am, however, concerned about the durability of the screen that I received. It seems to be more of a projector screen than impact screen. I ordered a 10X10 and it was around $800.00

I just got rollers from METECH as well. Super happy with them. I did not get their screen. I ordered the eagle impact screen from gung ho. I also could not be more happy with that. Highly recommend the combination. There is a lot more to figure out with the DIY option. I feel like if you don’t mind that, the METECH is a good choice. If you would rather someone put it together for you, gung ho is probably the way to go.

Well, there is a fair amount to do. You get the roller, but then you have to figure out how you going to attach it to the ceiling. Not hard, but took a while for me to decide how to do it. I had to cut the roller bar myself, which again, was not hard, but I was nervous I was going to screw it up. I added a side roller as well. Had to figure out what material to use for this. Bought my first thing ever in Joann fabrics. Ha. Yeah I ended up using awning material. Then you have to program the remote to work with the roller motors. Not hard, but I kept screwing it up to start out with and got rather annoyed. In the end, it all worked out great. Lots of trial and error, but it all looks amazing in the end.

MTgolfer - I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing. I found a used 15.5 ft tube that has an old Somfy motor in it. It has an end cap with stationary 12mm shaft on the other end. What did you end doing for brackets on the tube ends? Wiring the motor and getting the stops set is going to be a challenge. I was hoping have it up running this winter. Next winter seems like a more likely target. Lol

Their website shows most of their options as out of stock but when I emailed them last week they were very helpful and said they are filling backorders quickly. I placed an order for a 16ft Heavy Duty roller with their impact screen and 2 of their 6.5' rollers (side protection) with no material as I want it to be black so I'll source that locally. I was told I should have my shipment in 3 to 4 weeks.Originally posted by Outlaw View Post

Side note for any fellow Canadians, the shipping was pretty reasonable and although they won't accept a Credit Card for orders placed outside their website (such as this backorder) they did accept an Interac email money transfer to their Canadian offices and the exchange rate was within pennies of what my bank offers.

How is the screen attached to the roller? Looking to do Metechs with GungHo Eagle, but am wanting a full 10' viewable screen rather than getting a 10' piece of material and needing to keep a foot on the roller.
