    Hello,

Just wanted to know what's everyone's opinion on the commercial side of golf simulation. When you started using a local golf sim business as a a way to scratch the itch, what are you mostly looking for in that business?

If you guys can kindly rank the below that would be great, please add if its for pleasure use or practice use. If you can also put the Thank you in advance. Van

    A. Type of space, i.e. private rooms or an open setting
    B. Type of sim i.e. Trackman, uneekor, golfzon etc.
    C. Location how far/close
    D. Quality of equipment i.e. how good the hitting mat is, how bright the screens are etc.
    E. Price

    For example

    Pleasure
    A
    D
    C
    B
    E

    Practice
    A
    C
    D
    B
    E

I think both Quad and TM are best of breed with differing strengths. As you can see I use Quad but I do not think either is suitable for a commercial setting. Too much risk of damage or loss. You need to gravitate towards an overhead system, for a personal machine I would say GC Hawk but the Eye XO is very good and getting better. There are many commercial variants but I dare say few of us have experience with them however.

    B D C A E for both.

Priorities are LH/RH usage without moving a unit around constantly, accuracy of the system and minimising/eliminating shot delay.

I'll always happily pay more for a superior product or experience, even if it means not using a local option.

If it's just for practice, Quad. If I'm playing with others and there's a chance of a lefty, probably EyeXO/Hawk, maybe X3/TM or one of the weird sim device companies I know nothing about.

Just so long as spin isn't something they're estimating from club sensors, like Trugolf.

This is tough. I would explain this way. 20 min from my house is a bar/restaurant called beyond golf. Love it there. Good food / good beer / good setting.

its 45/hr in the winter which is a little pricey in my opinion. Last winter (before I built my sim) I went there and practiced one a week for an hour.

the course selection was OK but not great. Love that they have excellent food and I could enjoy a beer. Disliked that in one of their bays the projector was off so you couldn’t see wind. Disliked when the mats needed replaced. Disliked ones of their bats had a ripped projector screen.

would have really enjoyed if they had better diagnostic tools. Saw parties there that wanted more “games” instead of courses.

all in all I kept going cause I had no alternative. Now I have my sim and see no reason to go because my skytrak product is better than their alternative.

Now what if you didnt have your own sim and there was a second option for lets say $30. Only private bays, with top notch equipment using either Trackman or Eye XO. Does not serve alcohol but have the cold sandwich/ pop/ chips available. Would you choose it over the other place...?

If i didn’t have my own sim. $30 would be a winner. Especially with a practice focus. Doubt I would partake in cold sandwiches/pop. Maybe a bottle water.

However, if I was looking for pleasure vs working in my game, I’d probably chose the other place for courses/buddies/drinks

Uneekor EyeXO would be my choice for a commercial sim set-up.

That's where I'm a little torn. I know the enthusiast in here can appreciate and understand the value behind the eye xo. Whereas the average joe will see that if it isn't trackman (what the pro uses) then it's no good..

          I will be different.
          Pleasure C, E, B, D, A

For me, If I have to leave my house to do it, and I have to pay to do it, then those will always be the two most important factors no matter what. Cost and Location.
If we are talking about pleasure then I would rather an overhead system like EYE XO. I have never gone to a simulator just to practice. The first few times I tried a simulator, It convinced me to build my own. I would probably rather something like a Quad for practice. The order wouldn’t change though. Cost matters. I have a wife and kids. Location matters. I’m not driving to the City because they may have the best simulator on the planet. My time is valuable.
