  • Ceiling/Wall Mount Help

So I just recently got all the electrical work done and got my side mounted motor installed. I’m ready to get going on mounting the screen but I see a million options on this site and I’m still fairly undecided.

since the impact screen will need to be rolled away after use, I’ve been trying to work out a good way to either A. Make a mount either on the ceiling or the wall that can be pulled down and rolled up when not in use

or B. Something that manually rolls up permanently. I’m assuming A will be the simplest, and I’ve seen many folks mention using an angle iron, but I can’t quite work out the details of how you’d install it. Im assuming these would be the slotted-hole version?

I plan on going the curtain rod/blackout curtain route for the sides and padded ceiling for wedges.

also just for details, 9’4” ceiling and 16’ wide garage door. Impact screen is 15x8.5

Thanks in advance! All suggestions welcomed as I’m admittedly not the handiest in the world.

Would you consider a motorized roller? You have a perfect setup in your garage that you could easily mount something on your ceiling using the support beams.

Not opposed but afraid of the cost and I’ve already purchased my screen separately. Is there a fairly simple way to accomplish this by this point?

SporstScreen has both manual and motorized roller systems and an excellent mounting bracket system for garage door openings.
