Tips/advice appreciated for setup!

I moved into a house and unfortunately garage was my highest priority, for the wife it was the lowest. (Guess who won). Working with what I have.

Built some storage leaving me exactly 10ft of width in the 3rd stall. Currently parking outside to hit against side wall because of garage motor. My plan is to wall mount the motor, or possible convert to high lift. Ideally screen would be on back wall. Any weirdness with offset? I think with enclosure I’d be stuck with using an 8x8 screen. Any budget options I haven’t thought of? Modifications?

Are you righty or lefty? I have a ten foot wide screen in garage, but its in center stall so I have a bit more room to swing on both sides. Off center not a problem for FSX 2020 or TGC 2019. Seems as righty hitting into back wall, you will have a wall directly behind you. That may require ball position to be 7 or 8 feet off the wall. I suggest you mock up this setup and see how comfortable you are with that swing position.

I installed a side mount opener myself. Took about 90 minutes. Works great and much quieter than chain drive. I hired out getting tracks raised. Nice to have the overhead door gear up and out of the way.

thanks for response. I am a righty and thought about how cramped I’d feel…it certainly would be something getting used to. Also offsetting quite a bit.

alternative would be opposite side of garage and moving the cars over one stall.

what did the high lift conversion cost you? I’m getting quotes in the 1300-1700 range

My doors were 25 years old, so I upgraded to better insulated doors at the same time. It was only a few $100 as an option. For just track change, seems most would be labor.
