  • Garage Build No Enclosure

Hi! I have a long skinny garage in the new home I am purchasing that I would like to turn into a simulator room. It measures 11 feet 5 inches wide by 11 feet 5 inches tall and about 38 feet long. Picture from home listing attatched.

I am thinking about just hanging the screen from the ceiling about two feet from the back wall and not doing an enclosure and just padding the walls and ceiling around the screen. Anyone see any issues with this?

I will then have my AV guy give me his best recommendation on either ceiling mount or floor mount projector. With Garage door mechanism up there it might make a ceiling mount a little tough.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be welcomed

so you want the screen on the wall with the door on the left? how often do you have to access that door? How far back is the garage door opener? You can do a hanging or retractable screen with padded side walls or an enclosure with up to 10 ft sides and top. thx golfsimulatorsite

thank for your response. Yes. That door goes into an extra storage room but also has a door that goes out to my back yard so I don't have to access that door at all. and those shelves on the left will not be there. I believe the garage door opener is around 13 feet in front of the back wall.
