Enclosure height?

I’ve been looking at carls place full enclosures. I’m curious why only one of them is 9’, the rest are below that, down to 7.7’.

From research, I didn’t think I’d want to go lower than 9’, but if I do I can get away with a 4:3 ratio, filling screen to image.

With 5’ deep, can I safely go as low as 8’ high? What’s your experience?

My Carl's enclosure is 8'6. The height really has to do with the space you have and how far away you are from the impact screen. If your enclosure is 8'0 high and you are trying to hit from 15'0 from the screen, you will likely hit the ceiling with wedges, etc. If you are hitting from 10'0 or so, which is normal, 8'0 should be fine.

The most common advice I received when asking about building my enclosure and the size is to use all the available space you have, no one ever regretted going too big.
